Need help deciding: '04 650 Baja-x or '04 Predator Troy Lee Edition
#2
Hey man, I have ridden both and personaly I like the Predator more. The DS650 is amazing for straights and stuff but it is a big bike compared to the Pred. Both quads look great. if you won't be riding a lot of fireroads or dunes (DS650 is sweet in sand) then go for the pred.
My 2 cents

Thanks for all the responses. It's appreciated
Here's the deal.......I've never even owned a 4x4 before. My girl and I are getting 2 this weekend. I'm the type of person who gets bored very easily. I also decided to place the Scrambler 500 in the mix as well.
I'm 30, 5'11 220 (bodybulider)
I live in Cleveland, Ohio------so NO sand dunes.
I've had a ton of motorcycles, so I really MISS the shifting of gears and the adreneline RUSH..........this is WHY I wanted something FAST as hell.
Thoughts?

if your talking 4x4 then the only one you could pick is the scrammy....
If you are looking for a fast ute then take a look at the prarie 700...TONS of torque and lots of mods you can do to it...but if you want something lighter take a look at the V-force from kawi...its only 2 wheel drive but can go where other quads cant...the scrammy 4x4 can go through everything the V can though...and can be modded and can fly...Alltoys has had is prarie up to 98...then crashed...but he has done his own custom modfing that nobody else has

there is also the scrammy 400...which could be made to absolutely scream, about $2500 can get you a HPD POWER MAXX 416...over 85hp at the crank...gotta love 2-stroke power...with that much power, you wont get bored easily....

ketoman11,
I take it you have been looking around at South East Polaris? There are some cool people there. I always go to them for all my parts. Good place.
Anyways, the Scrammy is an awesome sporty 4x4 and is an awesome trail quad. However, just make sure you realize it is not a sport quad. If you plan on hitting some jumps the Scrambler isn't the one to get. The Predator would best fit that type of riding style. If you want the versatility of the Scrambler and it's unstopable 4WD on the trail, then go with the Scrammy. Do some test rides if you can.

If you like banging the gears, the Scrammy is out. If you need 4x4 you could look at a Wolverine, but they are not Screamers. If you can live without the 4x4 and your a good size guy I'd get the DS. The Pred does fit a big guy OK, but the DS is the foshizzle for the bigger guy.

DS is a really strong machine, bulletproof motor, and well sized for someone like you. The Pred is more agile and makes excellent power, comparable to the DS (though a sprocket change is best for more low-end).
If you're going to be doing lots of fireroads or wide open spaces, the DS is fine. If the trails are tighter, you may want the Pred.
Either way, rock on....
