I will finish my break in this week. I have not installed the aggressive clutch kit yet. I also got two extra primary springs (hpd plain/hpd brown). Hpd red/yellow came with kit 40/36 helix and violet secondary spring and 10-58 weights. My question is what weights (10-58 or stock) and which helix (40/36 or stock) would work best with the three different primary springs

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

Well I just installed a hpd clutch kit in mine, I called Rick from RCR and he sold me the red with yellow spring and a violet secondary spring with the 10-58 weights. I didin't get the helix with it because Rick said that it really did'nt make that much of a difference in performance. He told me that the springs would do 90% of what a clutch kit does without the helix. I hoped this helps but if not I would give HPD or Rick from RCR a call.....

I always found the 58 weights to be a little much for my liking. If you dont like the real high engagement, then the polaris brown springs with the stock weights works really well. It has a medium engagement and works great. The only place the 40-36 helix would affect is if you hold the throttle wide open for a long period of time. It helps keep the rpms up on the big end.

They call it the aggressive kit because that is what it is. I personally think that the 58 gram weights shift out too fast. The stock weights tend to have a better shift feel. You have to step back and think that Polaris puts the s-55 weights on a lot of the bikes because they work good. You just change the primary spring to suit what riding style you do. But always put the good secondary spring in. If I was going to buy anything, I would buy only springs. Heck, for the money you save on a clutch kit, buy a good secondary spring, then buy a brown and a red/yellow spring for the primary and see which one you like. Your still way below the cost of a whole kit. Experimentation is good learning on these.
