Default plug fouls

i got such a good response on my last post i thought i might trym again! i took the scrambler 400 riding again yesterday and all was well,until the end of the day.i shut it off to get ready to load up but it wouldnt start back.changed plugs and it fired right up.it has done this to me 3 times .but i have no problems when riding it.any ideas on what might be happening! all replies are appreciated!

you could be running rich?do you open the machine up?sometimes riding slow will make the plug buildup and foul it out..

yesterday i did lug it around quite a bit.we had some very slow riders with us.i also noticed it was smoking quite a bit.

i believe the stock plug number is a d7es. but it runs better with a d8es.is the 8 hotter or cooler?

You need to check your counterbalance oil level, sometimes the excessive smoke is caused by the crankshaft seal in the balance shaft sump leaking oil (or allowing it to be sucked) into the crankcase. This will also cause fouling of the spark plug.
