Default Changing rear sprocket on Predator

Can someone walk me through how to change the rear sprocket?? I just want to make sure I do things the right way. I've worked on sleds a ton, but this is my first quad. Your help is appreciated...thanks.

depending on the size of sprocket you bought you will probably need to remove the wheel/hub, loosen up the chain, take your wrenches and just loosen and remove the four bolts, put on new sprocket, tighten bolts, put on wheel/hub, adjust chain and your done.... i think..at least this is how i did it...

yup thats right... but lucky for you the rear sprocket bolts on the pred dont stay tight.. so they come/fall off really easy...
i suggest some RED loctite on them, blue wont hold... atleast not for me anyway.

is the hub smaller on the '04 to where the sprocket would come off w/out taking the hub off though?

I just got done putting my 38 tooth on last night. I have an '03 though, and my old 37 tooth would not quite sqeeze over the wheel hub, so I had to remove the wheel hub. Not too big of a deal, but I did not have a big enough socket to fit the wheel hub. I used a micrometer and came up with 1.097" so I went out and bought an 11/8" socket. I fit o.k. but I think this hub not is metric as there is a little play in the socket with the way it fit. I was able to torque it back to 80 ft/lbs per the manual though. Oh yes, the best advice given so far is to loosen the chain, and when loose enough, you can just roll your wheels (transmission is in neutral) and roll the chain rught off. No sense in breaking the chain apart just for a sprocket installation.

Thanks for the input. Does anyone know if the hub on the 04s is small enough for the sprockets to go over??
