holes in top airbx lid?
#1
i have a 2001 scram 500, with hot seat speed kit in it, very satisfied with results, but i been told to drill holes in top of airbox lid for even more power, is that true? if so does carb need readjusted after holes are put in? also, how many , and how big should i drill holes? any input on this is appreciated, thanks

Your best bet would be to get some 1" airbox vents. I think they come in a 6-pack, and have foam in them to let in more air but they keep out the dirt and stuff. denniskirk or rockymtnatv should have them. You'll probably hafta rejet for sure....

D&D makes filters called bullzye's i run them in my sled air box the come in a 6 pack and they even come with caps so you can close them off if you want. http://www.ddracing.com

Ya,,,its simple..if you put holes in it..your going to get more airflow which is always better..and of course you'll have to rejet to even out with the extra air...have you thought about that new k&n power filter that takes place of the airbox lid??? I heard those things are pretty sweet.
