Xplor needs tire help!!!
#1
Here's the thing. I installed 26" mudrunners on my Xplorer and I need a set of tires for when the riding is swift and bumpy. The mudrunners just always hit my fenders and I can't ride hard anymore.(35 mph and less!) I will keep them for spring and fall.
What 25" tires do you all suggest? I was thinking of stockers, but they cost about as much as better after market tires. I would still like a bit wider than stock in the rear but maybe the same up front. The smoothest ride possible with great traction. Would 25" mud tires be as annoying as the 26" ones, smooth ride?
Give me your suggestions!!!

Wouldn't stiffer springs make for a really harsh ride Jaime? How much do they go for about? I know that the struts cost up and over 200$ each canadian!
I just reread your post...24$ per spring only!!
Would stiffer springs really help because the tires actually hit towards the back. Right in front of my toes... I already have the rubber spacers. Have had the 26" for only 3 months and they rub more and more! The ride is really starting to suffer.

Hi xplorer,
1. check the air pressure in your front tires. If its too high, let some air out. It can stop the rubbing but only if you have too much air and can let some out.
2. I bought from high lifter, there progresive lift heavy duty front springs. They come with the heavy duty springs which you may not really need. but they come with cams which will raise up the front end body about 1 and 1/2 inchs possible. Maybe they would just sell you the cams to install under your stock springs? I paid 150.00 for the full set. They work. This is what I did on
my xped. when I went to 26 inch mud bugs tires.

I already tried the air pressure reduction. Thinking of shaving inside of mud guards but the tires rub more and more. I like the idea of the cams. Those are like cylindrical spacers above and below the springs, right? Maybe I will try and make some...they seem reasonably simple enough on some pics I have seen in here.
I still wonder if the stiffer springs would keep the tires from bumping backwards??? That would be even easier.
