well u cant get the pin out without the c-clips out, to take those out just get a small flathead screw driver in there and pry them out. but becuase to stick a rag down in your bottom end cuz u dont need to be fishing a c-clip out of there.

There is a small indention in the piston's "hole" that the piston pin goes through - this indention will let you get a small screw driver (I use an ice pick) under the "c" clip to lift it up while prying outwards. Depending on the condition of the piston and pin, after you get the "c" clip out, you may have to exert a little force to get the piston pin to move through to release the pin from the connecting rod.

Like mud said - stuff a shop rag or towel into the crankcase hole under the piston to keep the flying "c" clip and other debris from falling into the engine.

Well, if hitting it and it still don't budge, take a c clamp and a bolt to fit the piston pin. Than just crank. Once you get to far, the pin will hit the c=clamp, so than try to position the cclamp above the piston pin. Thats how i got my piston off since i melted the piston(jetting being off)

Ok, just my $.02 for what it's worth. After I got the c-clips out, I used a socket from one of my socket sets to punch it out. I had one that fit it just perfectly. If you want to help hold the piston steady while you're doing this, just get you a piece of 1X4 about 6" long and split it down the middle and put the 2 pieces on top of the crankcase and push the piston down until it rests on the boards. Then it won't move too much while you punch it out no matter which method you decide to use. Good luck!
