Well I just picked up a sportsman 500 for a song .....and now I see why!.....I'm new to the atv thing and when I put the machine up on the lift and fire it up with the awd button on .....the back tires both turn and one front tire turns on the left side..........both drive shafts turn in front but the right side tire doesn't move.............the tire will spin free with no noise ............I'm thinking maybe a hub maybe broke.

Any input would sure help!

Check the wiring first (12vdc when in 4 wheel / forward). After that check the fluid in the hub.

 

If one of the front tires engages don't I have power to the front or is there two separate wires, one to each hub? ........I guess my problem is I am not quite sure how "4 wheel on demand" works.

 

Two wire to each hub.
