Default Anyone know a part # cross for a U-joint?

I have a bad U-joint on my 1998 500 and want to buy one at an auto parts store instead of my Polaris dealer. They want $36 for one. I can get 3 for that price at a parts store. I paid $67 for a set of brushes for my starter, I guess I'm just cheap. I think these prices are out of line. Damn whole starter is $300+. Is it just me or are these prices crazy?

Rockford (p/n ATV500) and others make aftermarket U joints, but not available at an autoparts store. Try a local independant shop or try HERE to locate a nearby ArmorTech dealer. You can count on $20+ for one of these.

As for your starter - you can get a brand new one off Ebay for $141.99 w/shipping from DBElectrical - I've been using them for some time and have not had a problem out of their starters yet.

I found one at NAPA for $14. It's a NAPA part #507 which is the same as a Spicer 5-2011X. Precision #507 also. Sorry Polaris dealer.
