bleeding the coolant system
#12
i just put it back together.i started it with the bleeder screw on the head open and the radiator cap off.i let it run a few minutes with the coolant bubbling out of the bleeder screw then i tightened it up and toped off the radiator.i left it running for a good 10 minutes and noticed some coolant spitting out from the exahust,is this normal?also it seems to be running hot,my light or fan didnt come on but the head got so hot i couldnt touch it,i dont recall it ever being that hot,am i wrong?im nervous about having air in the system..

As long as it was running out of the bleeter you should not have air in the system. You also should not have coolant coming out of the exhaust. Recheck your torque on the head. Did you have your head milled?

no i didnt have any motor work done.when i took the head off the coolant wasnt drained enough so it went into the cylinder,i took the drainplug out but im thinking there was still some coolant left in the cylinder and its just shooting it out the exhaust?should my engine be running so hot that it burns me when i touch it?

I would say that is the problem with the coolant coming out the exhaust. Mine gets hot also, I would start running Engine Ice....this stuff works great. Heat robbs horse power. I would keep an eye on the temp light.
