So Polaris went with a completely different drain plug than the 500 motors? Thats interesting

 

helps to run the engine for a few minutes first, take a lap around the yard to heat up the oil filter somewhat. thats what I do to warm the oil up so it's thinner and drains better plus it helps to get the filter off easier.
