Default Scrambler Jetting

I recently purchased a used Scrambler which I love, but I think I need to rejet it. It runs like a bat out of ---- when you open it up, but it doens't like to idle or run at slow speeds, and when you romp on it it throws out a bit of black smoke, which in the automotive world means running rich. I haven't yet pulled the plug, but I think I know what I will find. It looks as though it was set up for racing when i bought it, white Bros e-series with full spacer, clutch mod, k&n a/f, heck the guy even put air in the rear brake line for the handbrake so as to make it like most other bikes that you have to use the foot brake for the rear. I am more of a trail rider, and I like to putt at times. With what I have told you, the muffler and clutch mod, what would be a good jet to still make the most out of these mods, without losing the idle and low end. I do realize I will lose a little power, but that is ok, as long as it stops dying when I let off the throttle, and I don't have to pull the idle way up to keep it from dying. Thanks for the help.

You should have a 155 or 160 main jet (155 is stock) with the air/fuel screw about 2-2 1/2 turns out
