My friend is a dealer and they have them in stock. However, as likely with most dealers, they are keeping them in back so they can sell the other SP500's first. He said it is noticably faster and has 5x the brake life. I told him it needs it to keep up w/my Kodiak, (we give each other heck!!).

2000 kodiak 400
2000 warn winch(from polaris)
25-10-12 Escavators

So we should now be able to go about 2000 miles on a set of brake pads (Non EBS Machine)?

$85 every 400 miles is ridiculous.

$35 front $50 rear.

I don't understand why everybody wants disc brakes at this price.

We've had a 450S, 450ES, and a King Quad and never spent a dime on brakes!!! I like drums!!!!

Tim1, glad to see you still haven't grasped the wolverine vs rancher article. Could it be possible that the rancher gained a little ground in the middle of the powerband and then lost it on the top end?

Give it a rest!

Try riding with the parking brake released!?

Use low-range on the down-hill runs, and keep the rpm above idle to keep the belt engaged (doesn't work on the steeper hills though).

and... try not to get stuck behind slower (manual trans or ebs equipped) quads going down the hills .. just turn the brake loose and ride!

1600 miles on my original brakes, non-ebs '98 Sportsman 500 ... 100% mountain riding.; still had quite a bit of pad left, too.

Oh yeah ... you're paying too much for your brakes! Does that include installation? They are real easy to change.

My dealer said that polaris has re-invented the breaks. All new polaris atv's will have the new ones and they will last very much longer then they
do now. rangerchet
