hoolio, cool if its not as loud as a supertrapp I'll be happy! Hope it's by thursday so I have it for the weekend!
The EPI kit was $158.99 from dennis kirk, I'm kinda spoiled with them there only 12 miles down the road from my house.
Installation was easy except for the secondary spring and helix. there's alot of preload on it to do it by yourself without secondary clutch holder. If you have a decent snap ring pliers and a helper it's not to bad.
The kit really wakes up the zero to 45 range! With the pipe it should be a rocket! Backshifting is also greatly improved.

hoolio, thanks again for all your info. I got the pipe last Friday, while I was away on a wheeling weekend. Installed it monday, very nice fit and finish! As for performance, with 200 main jet observed top end 72.9 mph(gps). The plug was brand new and a little hard to read with only a couple of miles on it looked like a chocolate brown on all metal surfaces of the plug, electrode tip insulator was just starting to turn a light brown.Jetting was proubly fine but I went back to stock 210 to be safe.Plug is know a very dark brown almost black. Top speed 66.5 mph, on the same stretch of tar, tempature was approx 10 deg. warmer.I'll proubly stay here for awhile and see what the plug looks like after a couple days of riding. This thing is really a rocket to about 50-55 and easly hits 60 before the wifes stock one hits 40!

OK, you guys convinced me. I just called dynoport and ordered the pipe for the 2000 explorer 400.It only cost $225.00 (this included the silencer) They told me to stay with the stock 210 main jet until it gets colder then go up one to a 220. I forgot to ask them if it came with new springs, does it? Did you have to use a spring tool or did sharp nose vice grips work? My only other mods are a k&n and an outerwear, rcr type airbox mod, ranger belt, Bearclaw tires, twin tube front bumper and black PSI primary spring. (it's pretty stiff I'm not sure what it's Polaris factory equal would be) Anyway thanks a lot for a real informative post.

mnxplorer,

Sounds like the 210 is the right jet if the 200 jet was 6mph faster.

As they in snowmobile lingo, "your sled is always running the fastest it has ever done right before it melts down."

Where do you guys ride around Pine City?

I have done Willow River and Moose Lake a couple of times.

JOEMAG500, it uses all factory springs and mounts. The pipe itself sits in a little closer to the engine and away from the plastic.
THOR, we do the majority of our local riding in the Nemadji state forest out of Nickerson. If you want REAL MUD try Chengwatana State forest out of Pine city. But,beware the wrong path though some holes can put you in over the bars! If your interested email me, I might be convinced to run it once more this year. The Nemadji has great riding trails.

MNEXPLORER/ hoolio, did you make any adjustments to your airbleed screw? The factory setting is 1-1/2 turns out for summertime riding I found that mine ran better at two turns out. Did you change the clip position in the carb? I dropped mine down 1 notch and it ran a little better. These adjustments were all made prior to getting the pipe so I may go back to the factory settings and try those first and see how it runs. I was just curious to see if either of you had made any of these adjustments after the installation of the pipe.

Made a little adjusting on the airscew. I don't remember which way I went. I just turned it until it ran best. I sent it to the dealer after that though. They could have messed with it for all I know.

Sorry for the wait but my puter has down all week, lightning hit. I havn't messed with the airbleed screw, the thing pulls strong as heck from the bottom to the top. I did play with the clip and found the stock position worked best. I'm running the factory 210 main jet also , but remember the Rad valve requires that you lean 1-2 jet sizes. My plug is golden brown at 70 degs at all stages of throttle. The thing will wheelie in high!! Thats with no leg on the rack or pull back on the bars! Not bad with a winch hanging off the front!
