sp500 HO a rumor????

Jack, It would be cool if you could figure out a way to put a 700 twin 2-stroke in a quad that weighs 300 pounds. I'm sure Polaris would follow your lead and we would all be able to buy the best quad ever made! Maybe they would even name it after you, they could name it THE SCHULTZ SPECIAL or SS for short. Hell they might even put Heelclickers on it!

Over 3/4 of the parts that went into building the first "original" SP500HO (High Output)were not even available in the fall of '98. The transformation of this machine was started in August 1998, it's a '99.
Our "original" SP500HO consists of the following:
- Scram 2000 500HO camshaft
- Mikuni 40mm carb & carb boot (from '99 500HO)
- Wiseco Pro-Lite 10.5:1 compression forged piston
- K & N Air Filter
- NGK Platinum plug
- Supertrapp headpipe and IDS2 muffler
- Rev limiter eliminated
- Removed EBS and replaced with stock drive and driven clutches to eliminate EBS
- Aaen roller secondary clutch and helix
- Thunder Shift Kit by TPI (flyweights)
- Dayco Max belt
- 25" MudRunners mounted on Douglas .190's with J/L racing rings
This is not your typical whimpy old man's 500 with just a changed cam and carb. It is not one of those Bigfoot type atv's with poor performance and handling either. Performance comes in a package. You cannot just change a couple of things and expect to machine to perform really well. A change in one area affects another. We are just starting to realize the potential with this "original" SP500HO. There will be more changes to come in the future.

Jack I purchased 2 99 scrambler 500's in october 1998. The main difference in power is the cam & carb,All the other parts listed have nothing to do with an HO engine at least they did not come on either of my scramblers.I can usually get parts before they are available to the general public(example 800 twin before the 800 rmk ever went into production). But I have to hand it to you a 00 scrambler cam in 98 you have a lot more pull than I ever will. By the way my 2000 sportsman 500 (typical whimpy old man's atv)has 16" of ground cleance with 27" tri-claws and has no problem pulling the front wheels and carring them.If I want handling I get on my scrambler. Why did you even build the sp500?
