Gas...difference?
The owners manual will tell you for sure, but you only probably need to run 87 octane. You can run the higher octanes if you want, but its just a waste of money unless the motor reguires it. I run 89 in mine for the heck of it. I like the cleaner burn of midgrade over the regular

Gas...difference?
Unless you've done mods that either up the compression (pistons, head work, cams....) or radically advance the timing, the use of anything over 87 octane is overkill. Even using a mid-grade (89) gas can be a bit much. Higher octane gas needs a higher compression ratio to acheive it's flash point. When you run an octane higher than necessary, you will not get an efficient burn (dirty), it will eventually lead to "crud" build up in your combustion chambers and ports resulting in poor performance. Sure... A tank here and there if you must, or if you really think you need to... But it's not needed. As far as blended (ethenol) gas goes, I'm not sure if it would be bad or not. I'm not that familiar with this these motors yet to make an educated decision.... My gut feeling is "no". I've never been a fan of blended from the start. Not enough upper (compression) ring lubrication as far as I'm concerned. Too much washing actions due to the alcohol. Polaris says it's okay..... Fine.... But I, personally, am going to try and avoid corn squeezin's.....
