Sorry, just realized you were interested in selling your *Z* to get a pred. Not your Raptor. We just got the Z, so I can't really compare them to well yet. I can say that the Z feels lighter, and the front suspension is plusher though. Both are good machines and I think you'd still be happy with the Pred.

i know i shouldnt be asking this...but i want an HONEST opinion from predator owners...my friend is going to get a predator...and his dad wont let him mod a single thing on it...if i put a CT pipe/jet kit on mine with a K&N and some different gearing...will i be able to keep up with his stock pred alright?

42hp to the real wheel is way off for a stock pred. mine dynoed 35 to the rear wheel stock after a pc pipe and header k&n and rejeted the mn. and pilot 160mn 55 pilot it put out 40.1 to the rear wheels. i just read this months dirt wheels and it said yfz 450 is 42 to the rear wheels. and being a pred owner i know a stock pred is slower than a stock yfz. those bikes are just fast.

YFZ = DOHC 450cc Pred = DOHC 500cc Im not sure about the compression ratios and quality of internal parts but the Pred has the same features. Besides weight the Pred has the advantage. Which means the dyno #'s should be higher.

A DVX with those mods should run nice beside a stock Pred. There fast but limited stock.

Yes, you should be able to give him a good run for his money.

most definately....my Z stayed right behind my raptor (2-3 quad lengths) when i had an experienced friend race with me, however this was before the airbox mods, and the 686 kit. This was from a 2nd gear rolling start all the way to top end... other than that I like the z, only i want to change it up because i have always wondered about the predator.

It will be a "Project" Quad for a while, and will get built in my garage over the next few months, i am just hopin that im not makin the wrong choice by not going with the YFZ...as the Trail quad. But thats not wut they were made for so i imagine it wouldnt be as good in the woods, as a Predator.

Did you dyno with your stock tires, or did you use slicks. I'm saying this, because slicks will give you a higher HP number then if you had stockers on. The YFZ in DW had slicks on and it got 40hp stock. It got 42 with the airbox lid removed and rejetted.
