Sportsman 800 SPY PICS
I don't think Polaris knew about the Kawi 750 before we did, so I doubt they've been designing and building a machine to beat it. They may release a bigger Sportsman, but it won't be because of the Brute Force.
I can't figure out why the would release an 800 this year. Why wouldn't they go for an HO 700, or a 750, before releasing an 800? They would get more media exposure (and more sales) over the next few years that way. I also think that they're updating the look of the Sportsmans, so they don't need to make an engine change this year to generate profits. We'll see.

Does anybody know if this new 800 is still a 2 valve engine? If it is, I expect the King Quad and Brute Force will both be faster than the 800. In the big bores, it's all about breathing. The Kawasaki twins have stomped the field because they use a smaller bore (vs. a big single) with 4 valves per cylinder, and those 8 valves equal better airflow. I still can't believe the Polaris carbed 700 uses a single 34mm. What were they thinking?
