Has anyone been at a lot of diferent altitudes, and if so how does the EFI perform, does it make up for the power loss on a carberated machine? I herd going up in altitude a clutch weight adjustedment should be made, did you notice the clutch acting any diferent if this was not done? Has any of you had a chance to compare thr 700EFI to a Grizz or the new Brute Force, if so how is the handeling and the low to medium speed torque in comparison?

So far I have been really happy with mine...I only have 10 miles on it though...The EFI seems to be a pretty good deal, good throttle response, Easy starting, If all the electronics hold up well for years to come I will be completly happy. The fuel pump in mine was a dud though...I had 5 miles on it and it went out, but was replaced under warranty. The dealer has sold about 50 of these units this year and said that they had seen mine and one other one bad right from the get go. Im not going to get discouraged however, I worked at a GM dealership and have seen new cars with similar bugs to be worked out. The only thing I dont care for is there is free play in the secondary clutch which makes some noise. As far as handling power and ride goes, I dont think there is a better ATV on the market. The frames is built very well with independant suspension. Power is incredible in all ranges. Polaris really did a good job of getting gearing perfect on this thing. In low range I swear it would pull a house if you could keep the tires from spinning. Another reason that I like polaris is the drivtrain is overengineered for strength. When you go looking at these things you will notice the Yamaha has small axles, cheap shocks, and an overall feel of an overall conservative construction budget. Polaris isnt quite so greedy when it comes to maximizing on profits.

I have owned the following polaris ATVs

85' 250 ... miles ridden 800... Problems: Ex ranch ATV, bad crank seals, abused its whole life...I got it and trashed on it some more...
98' SP 500 milles ridden 2100...Problems: Nail in a tire..my own fault...A-arm bushings bad at 1500 miles cost $7.35 and one hour of my time to install
00' SP 500 miles ridden 1800...Problems: Fell off a trailer while going 35MPH on gravel road. $1200 in damages Insurance covered..A-arms bushings $7.35 and one hour to fix
I accidentally broke side panel adding coolant..cold oustide.snapped.$76 for new one...

Currently own:
'03 scrambler 500 Miles 594...Problems: Didnt like factory clutching $27 heavier primary clutch weights, hour to install, Rock killed the side wall on rear tire. replaced $49 AT489
04.5 SP 700 EFI..Miles 10...Problems...Bad fuel pump..warranty covered...lost key for ignition switch $54 new keys and switch.my own fault. took me 10 mins to replace switch

I have put 5304 total miles on 5 Different polaris ATV's and have only put $90.70 into repairs becuse of failed parts.
The Other thing great about polaris is the parts are reasonably priced..If I do get a little crazy and break parts or body panels I wont have to get out the vaseline when paying for replacement parts...The Jap ATV's and Bikes parts are absolutely rediculous in price...And YES I do have a Jap bike so I know..I have a Kawasaki ZX12R..which so far has been good, however if I were to dump the thing just one time at a slow speed I priced the parts out at over $1800 to fix it....The bodywork alone accounts for $3600..
Unfortunealty thats one market that the US can't compete against...Building a decent sport bike...
