Does anyone have 28" tires on their Polaris? One of my friends runs them on his Xplorer (28" Vampires). I know Highlifter had them on the "big Dog", but I think they sold it. If you have any pics and suggestions as to what is necessary to run them, it would be helpful, i.e. lift, spacers, fender modifications, offset wheels.

TxDoc2...i have 28in vamps all around on my 2000 sp500...i will switch around with running 28's all around and running 28's in the back with 27x12x12vamps in the front(when i want a little more flotation) depending on what type of mud and conditions that we're riding in for that day...i do have 1.5 spacers on mine but for the 28in vamps they might not be necessary because even though they are listed as 10in. wide mine only measure 9inches with 8-9p.s.i of air....lift kit is a must...even with lift kit my front tires still rub from time to time but nothing serious(mostly with sharp turning)....28in tire is very heavy...i have the performance kit from highlifter(pipe, exhaust, carb. kit,air filter, ect..)with this setup you can turn them pretty well in low range but in high it takes you awhile to get up to speed....didn't notice a lot of difference in ride vibration with the big lugs on the 28's there was some but the sportmans suspention take most of it out...did notice a big difference when trail riding esp. on trail with lots of loose gravel the bike likes to sway side to side some not bad but you definatly need to pay attention this problem seems to go away when i havethe 27x12x12 vamps on the front...because of the weight you need the horsepower to turn them the way your supposed to....hope this helps
