Default Trail lightened fly wheel

Does anyone have a picture of a fly wheel that has been lightened but still uses the starter? I have a hpd ATVP8 trail pipe and clutch kit with the rcr air box mod. Should I just go with the race lightening? I have the equipment at work to turn and balance the fly wheel myself that's why I'm asking for the picture. Thanx

I absolutely loved my bike after race lightening. You dont have to worry about it considering there is still that big heavy clutch on the crankshaft. radblazer, there was nothing more left than about a 1/4 inch hub, nice and round, with just a couple of small notches cut in it for balancing. It makes a huge difference in throttle response.

I had my flywheel trail lightened and it works great on the trails. I wish I would of taken a picture of it before I installed it. I thought about getting it race lightened but wasn't ready to lose the electric start.

would race lightening of the flywheel affect the outcome of drag races and also does it change the way your current clutching will work?

It would allow the engine to rev alot faster allowing for quicker launches! Any affect on clutching would be minimal at most!

Well I made the starter block off plate at work today. I pulled the fly wheel and will cut it tomorrow. How does the race lightening effect hill climbing? Thankx for your replies!

The whole thing with the race lightening along with the race mod is that the motor engages medium to high depending on clutch setup. Most people go with a low engagement for trail riding. I always liked a high engagement even for trails. It seemed to make the power more manageable and fun to use. If you use the red/yellow primary spring, then go for it. The response will be great. If you have the plain spring, then trail lighten it. You can always change the clutching to suit whatever you need though.
