Default question on engine braking

well i have a polaris 330 magnum. i contacted the dealership today about some mod. on engine braking. well they have something but it costs $500 and about $30 to put on. has anyone got this mod. and how does it work. that seems rather expensive but it seems to be a little dangerous riding downhill. another thing about starting the polaris. it doesnt always like to start well. is this the way polaris is or should it start up good evertime. thanks everyone.

That seems a bit high. I was looking at a 400 sportsman, and the modifacation was going to cost 250. But they were going to get the new drive clutch , that came off, so that probably reduced the cost.
