Well I have no choice as to agree that the SP500 is a great machine. My brother has a 98 SP500 and he kicks my Rubue's butt, espicialy in accelaration and speed, and it's not even this new H.O..I don't want to even see a H.O. SP, becouse it makes me sick thinking I spent 7K for a lesser performing machine. I got really tired of getting to our cabin dead last, after I was usually there first. Well that's it the wife gets the Rubie, I'm taking back the 500 Scrambler.

I couldn't agree with you more. The funny thing about the article is that the sp500 broke during the test, faulty 4wd. If that isn't the ultimate reflection of the company we all love so dearly I don't know what is. Take my Honda or my Polaris any day of the week!

Bzizzi,
let me ask you a question?Have you EVER been to a truck pull[in the''real world competition''] where the trucks pull only dead weight? It is allways pulling a sliding weight. The closer the weight moves on the slide, the heavier the weight transfer is.Why change it on quads? The belt thing you mention is FAR over exagerated.I know guys with over 4000 miles on the same belt.Use low range when needed, everything will be fine.

As for the weight of a utility quad?If your so concerned about the weight of a quad being over 600lbs,THAN DONT BUY A UTILITY QUAD,its that simple.Utility quads are not suppose to be light in weight.Im very pleased that you like your Rancher. It seems to fit your bill just right. Is the Sportsman really the ''King of 4x4 Quads''.

Only if the buyer thinks so.====Bill

Bill C. I totaly agree. My SCR500 is a 98 never changed the belt, and to top it off I don't have low range and I pull a trailer with a 100+ pound black lab in the back. Can't ever complain about the belt.

I was only stating that, they do make 600 lb atvs.
And if they added IRS it would be heavier.

If I blew up the tranny on my truck every time I put it 4 wheel High, and went off road with it I'd think I had a pretty poor truck. Putting it in low range is helpful alot of times, but not always. Going back and forth between low and high on long trails gets to be a pain in the *** sometimes. I like knowing that if I leave it in high range and have to throttle it from time to time, its not going to break. Much the same as my Grizzly.

These guys will try anything ! Complaining about the weight of the SP500 ?

Is that all you can come up with ?

Look at my signature. Guess which one sits in the garage ?
The Honda is a great quad. I'll give you that. I've had both of my quads for about the same length of time, so dependability hasn't been proven yet. But as for fun to ride, after the Scrambler, the Honda is just plain.....BORING.

Why is it, that if it is written on paper most people will believe it? You can make crap sound good on paper if you use the appropriate words. Remember the words opinion and bias?

The difference between Honda and Polaris is: Polaris tries to give their buyers what they want;Constantly trying to improve and add depth to their line-up. Honda(which I have 0ne) on the other hand , throws an auto-tranny at you and expects you to be content for the next ten years! Add some new features and machines to your Line-up Honda! Ride'em hard Polcat
