First week on a scrambler 500 - awsome, but one slight problem...
#1
Hi,
I'm new to this place - just got an 04 Scrammy a week back and have been blown away by it. It's quite a different beast to the suzuki 160 it replaced!! However, I'm having a slight problem with it - it pulls gently to the left the whole time. Its not a strong pull like when only one of the front wheels engages in 4x4 - it just feels as though something is slightly out of line. Is this normal? Can it be fixed?
Also, anyone else here from the UK? If so, d'you know of anywhere to get parts for it, exhaust systems, clutching gear and the like??
Thanks for any help

welcome to the forums..check your tire pressure and make sure they are the same if that isnt the problem you will probably have to adjust your tie rod ends, its pretty easy to do..

welcome to the forums! Great choice on the Scrambler, I have one myself and I love it. I also suggest tire pressures, if you can, get yourself a service manual, it will help out alot!!!!!!!

Probably the tire pressure or toe is not correct. The front tires should be toe'd out about 1/8". You can check this with a string or straight edge. Adjust it witht he tie rods. Also, I am pretty sure that Rick Ritter @RCR ships internationally. He carries HPD, White Bros, and many other brands as well as his own. what kind of tires do you have?
sometimes, if tires have a large paddle type tread pattern, they can create a pulling effect if they are not installed "inline" with eachother. this is especially known with sand paddle tires, but can have a small effect on the dirt/mud tires too. i had to rotate one of my bear claws on the rear because of this.
just my 2 cents.
