Wow,Just got to drive a 2001 Sportsman HO down at my local POLARIS DEALER and it was awesome. the steering was MUCH BETTER than is on my 99 RSE and it did seem to have the 20 % increase in power from the Scrambler engine that they say it has. I really like the new pull choke instead of the flip lever.Oh,what to do, buy a new 500 HO or wait till next fall for the rumored 700 V-twin Sportsman!!!!I love this sport!!

IS IT FASTER OFF THE LINE? FRONT END COME OFF THE GROUND.

 

Well, I only got to ride it a few hundred yards and was mainly checking out the steering more than the power, but it was noticably quicker.

 

I was told by my Polaris Mechanic that my bike is considerably faster than most SP500s and much faster than his. I can ride a wheely sitting on the seat by just giving it gas. I don't mean a foot off the ground either. If I don't let off the throttle, it will end up on the back rack. It is only six weeks old. I wonder why this is?

Not complaining, just curious.

I had a Yamaha Warrior that was faster than any other Warrior, people used to say it felt like i had a two stroke in there. I would race other Warriors and be 6 quad lengths ahead by top gear and pulling away. I could go up beside a Warrior going full out and pull away. Used to **** of my freind Jamie who had the same year and everything.
