I am the new owner of a used '03 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. Whats the generation IV,V stuff all about. WhenI search for certain parts I keep running into parts that fit generation this and generation that? Can anyone out there give me a list of what applies to what around here? Thanks, hdnvn

 

The generation is the type of frame style. The Scramblers are Gen III and the your Sportsman I believe is a Gen IV, then in the 04, they became Gen IV+,and the 600 and 700 are Gen VI. They change when there is a some kind of frame change. So things that fit on a GenVI won't fit on a GenIV.
