helmet fot the melon
I think all the Polaris helmets are made by KBC. I had a pure polaris sled helmet last year and that thing was cery nice. Way more comffy than me HJC, but very hot in the summer I took a couple of very bad impacts with it and demo'ed it and am gonna send it back to them.
MOTO type with goggles are the best with these but I have a buddy who wears a modular style and loves it. It is a full face street bike but you can flip the face protector up and turn it into an open face.
Best thing is to try them on. Look for one the says snell and dot on the back, Snell is a much more in depth safety testing procedure than DOT so make sure it says both. Get one that is comfy, and WEAR THAT THING!!!

Moto's with goggles are hard to beat. Full face with shield gives you more side vision, but is much hotter. In the cold goggles fog less than a shield and you can get a breath deflector if it's really cold. When it's warm, a moto breathes really well, almost as well as an open face. I use an HJC with goggles (and wuick straps) and a breath deflector for snowmobiling, no deflector for summertime. I use a full face for my motorcycle on the street just for conveniece and because I have it.
I like HJC, but my wife has a Fly and swears by it. It is a good bit lighter than my HJC. If they are DOT and Snell approved, safety is about the same, fit is where the difference is. Make sure to find a helmet that fits well, snug, but not tight or pinching. You may be unsure if one fits well, but when you try one on that fits well, you'll know it. Never buy a helmet without trying it on unless you are sure how it will fit.
