I've got two 700 EFI's and both of them have plastic problems with the way they fit where the gas tank plastic meets the side panels at the front of the seat area. has anyone had this problem and what did you do to fix it. the dealer said they can order new plastic side panels but I don't see where that will help. I wonder if polaris would update the plastic with the new 05' plastics to solve the way they fit. anyone got a comment on this

 

well bud u know that polaris will not update to the 05 plastic cause it wont fit ur bike, if the side panels dont fit, fix it, i found that if the gap is at the back of the tank near the seat, remove the 2 rear screws from the foot well and loosen the front two and install washers under the rear to tip the well forward and lift the rear fender up to get the gap to go away. works on most bikes but not all

My side panels fit good but it amazes me how you can just grab and rip these side panels off and flex them to put them on.....

 

they shure do take a likin, i tear dozens off each day, only broke a couple in 3 years.

 

man I forgot I posted this back in august, I took my quad to the dealer for them to replace the plastic which is under warranty along with a handful of other items. I am in KapusKasing right now so when I get back I will check with them and see how it's coming or if it's done.
