New Scrammy 400 Needs to be faster. Suggestions????
A few months ago, I ran across a new 2000 Scrambler 400 4x4 at a local Polaris dealer. Since they had been sitting on it for so long i was able to get it for $3500. I had been looking for one for a couple of years and was able to get this one for about what used ones sale for around here. Unfortunately, I have only had time to run a tank and a half of gas out of it. I have had many dealings with 2-strokes (mainly the LT-250R) but i want to know what is the best route to go for the most power (as in which manufactures). I would have already been working on it, but since it has a few bugs (leaky seals, dry rotted o-rings in chain, etc...) to be worked b/c it has been sitting for four years, I decided to wait until my factory warranty runs out before i start doing anything major to it. So, Ive got 2 months left on the warranty and most of the bugs have already been fixed (thanks to the warranty), and Im ready to get started on it. So any suggestions as to what to do will be greatly appreciated.

I think everyone will agree when I say that HPD is the king of HP.
Race Mods that produce 75 HP. The only drawback is you have to run race fuel.
Then there's the trail mod that make around 55 hp. This you can run 92 octane pump gas.
Here's a list of other guys out there that are respectable as well.

And of course my favorite guy to do buisness with is Rick Ritter (RcR) He sells HPD products.RcR
Hope this helps.

I will agree with Duneaholic. Give Rick Ritter a call and he will take the time to answer all your questions. If you are not sure what you want or need done he will take the time to explain all your options. I have talked to Rick many times after the sell and he is a great guy to deal with. There are alot of things that if I had to do it over again I wouldn't but the mods I done to my 400, I would do again in a heart beat. Good Luck
