What size 4x4 should I get for the WIFE?
She's 5'3" 120. I want to get her a 4x4 so she can ride with me on my 05 sp500. Maybe a 400? I would like everyones opinion. She is a FIRST TIME RIDER. We're just going to ride trails and mountains in Cali and Nevada. No MUD bogs or jumps( for her )

w/o a doubt i'd put her on the Magnum330 4X4.
my first Polaris was a '95 Magnum425, still have it, and it's been a great ride for new riders in our group.
it's VERY stable, IRS on the Sportsman isn't, maintenance free, and great MPG.
first time riders feel VERY confident riding it.
the Magnum would be the one!!

sounds fun, always a great idea to get the wifes involved in our "world" sort of speak. I bought two 700 EFI's for me and the wife only cause she wanted to buy two of the same quads and wouldn't budge from the idea of me having a larger faster quad than her.
I would recommend the polaris sportsman line of atv's. for just riding the trails and stuff I would go with either the 400 or 500 h.o. models. they are both single cylinder atv's, you won't get into the twins until you go up to the 600's but for just trail riding I would go with the 500 h.o. so you get overall great performance, handling, comfort and speed. If my wife would have budged from the two of the same quad idea, I would have got her the 500 h.o. you can't lose with the 500 cause it's a polaris, it's automatic which is a good thing with it being her first quad and it's a great value.

Find out how serious she is about riding. Sounds like she doesn't need a full featured quad. I would not recommend going all out just to have her let it sit and not ride. I know first hand about that one. (Anybody want a Mule?) You might want to look for something used for the first year and see if she gets hooked and then upgrade.
