Default First brake failure on my 500 Scrambler

I went to Coalcreek ATV this weekend and right after getting on the trails my brakes went out. What I found was if I kept my foot on the rear brake the the hand brake worked ok but you could feel the pressure bleeding from the front master cylinder to the rear.Has anyone had this happen to them. This is my first problem with my scrammy. I think the rear caliper seal blew out between the large (hand side) and small (foot side) diameters of the rear piston. Thanks.

the scrambler uses cheesy hoseclamps on thier brake lines .my rear brake kept getting worse, talked to polaris mechanic.he told me to replace the hose clamps.i did and it made quite a difference.be aware that after you do this the rear brake becomes more sensative to locking the rear tires up.you may also need to bleed the brakes after you change clamps.hope this helps.

I believe the front and rear are completely seperate from each other and the foot brake should have no effect on the hand brake. The foot brake works usualy 1 or 2 times after I blead it and then it stops working all together. I always just use the hand brake as it does the front and rear tires.

The small inner piston seal was split causing fluid from the hand mastercylinder to bleed to the small piston and pump the rear brake pedal up. I bought another caliper and all is well now.
