Default Hi all, New member and 3 headlight ?

Howdy all, traded in my Suzuki ozark 250 and her Trail Boss 330 in for new SP600s today.

I was looking for some info on making all 3 headlights on when on bright. I ran a search on here but didn't have any luck (me and forrum searches havn't been getting along lately). If anyon has a link or instructions I'd apreciate it.

Thanks, Jeff

You can check out my page ... it's easy.

you will need:
1 - 12volt relay
4 - 12" wires
some heat shink tubing.

i took power from the lighter plug to the relay and then from the relay to the low beam headlight wire (green) under the hood. The other end of the relay i ran to a switch ... so i have low / high (from the handle bar switch) then both (high on the handbar and the relay switch on).

Don't know if the switches are different on the new ones, but on my Xplorer you can just put the switch between Hi & Low and all three come on.

BTW, what exactly to you plant dirt in to make it grow? I've seen bags of the stuff at Walmart and always wondered who was growing it!

I know of two people who WERE firm believers in the switch between hi and low beams. One burnt up his harness and the other fried the switch!!
Problem is the harness and the switch isnt designed to handle the current draw of all 3 lights at once. But if thats the way you choose to go good luck!!!

There's a guy on ebay that continually sells a kit for like 8 bucks. I bought that. Took less than ten minutes to install, and works like a champ. I bought two, one for my 700efi, and one for my wifes 600 twin.

I'm not saying that didn't happen, but it shouldn't. The fuse for the lighting circuit should blow first. The purpose of fuses is to protect the wiring. A fuse will blow at a lower current than what the wire will melt at. Maybe they blew fuses first and replaced them with higher amp fuses?? Many people have a misconception that a fuse is to protect whatever is connected to a circuit (lights, front hubs, radio, power windows, etc). In reality, the fuse is there to protect the circuit itself (wiring and switches) from excess current flow.

In any event, I've rarely needed all three lights so I'm not too concerned. Perhaps if you want to use them a lot, it would be wise to invest in the kit and rewire them.

Current Search for Ebay to yeild the kit is :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

Or simply search for Polaris Light Mod and it comes up.
