Sportsman 700 wheel bearings SMOKED
My buddy has got an '03 700 that is a year and a half old. The front wheel bearing are totally shot. You can push the front side to side and watch the wheels go positive and negative camber. Pulled out the worse one and it is all rusty inside. So the seal on the bearing is abviously shot. Polaris wants $55 a bearing. Been trying to find them cheaper but no luck. Only thing we can find is a sportsman 500 rear bearing which looks identical to the 700 fronts. Two different part numbers. Anyone know if you can interchange them? There are several auctions on e-bay for new 500 rear bearings - 2 for $30. There are also bearing companys online that have the same deals going on. One last thing, anyone else have the same problem on thier 600 or 700?

Had the same problem with the Wolverine, front UN sealed bearings liked to go south if you rode in water/mud too much. Yamaha wanted over 20 bucks for bearings, if you look on the bearing, and find a number, a bearing distributor or an auto parts place like NAPA should be able to cross reference. Or take a micrometer, get the OD and ID, and they should be able to find you one. I was able to find a cross for mine, a sealed bearing, 6006 2RS ( two rubber seals) that have been in for years with no problems.
