Default cv boot

has anyone had a problem with your CV boot ripping? i know someone who has a 03 700 twin and a 400 , and the boots have been ripped twice on both of the quads, in probaly about a years time. I know this shouldnt be happening. We just made up some guards that go on the bottom of them, were gonna see how that works out. Has anyone else have this happen?
