Default Sportsman 700 04.5 steering?

I just moved from a sportsman 600 03 to a sportsman 700 04.5.... The 700 steers quite a bits harded then the 600. The 600 has Goodyear rawhides and the 700 has the new radials... Do the radials grab that much better that makes them steer harded. ALso, I thought the seering geometrys were the same on the 600 vs. 700. There is a hugh differance in motors between the two machines. The 700 dose wheelie easily but the 600 will not. Also, aside from the steering the 700 is much easier to drive and handle... Tks for inputs...

Good question, I think it is the tires. I also have a 04.5 700 and a 04.5 400 for the wife. Hers steers alot easier then my 700.

I have the rawhides(6lbs/air) on my HO and I was very impressed the first time I went out on how light the steering felt. I want to replace the Rawhides with 589's but am afraid it will steer hard.....

My 03 700 with rawhides steers with one finger unless awd is on. I'd check to make sure its not coming on accidently. When mine was new it would sometimes go into awd even with the switch off.

Theres deffinatly a difference with the tires my 04 has the rawhides and her 04.5 has the badlands her takes more steering effort, but it also climbs out of ruts a lot better.

My quad steers even harded when I engage the 4 wheel drive soI know it is not sticking. I think it is the tires, those badlanders are getting a bad wrap in this forum because they look wimpy compared to the Rawhides. The badlanders do hookup really well on trails...... The 700 wheelies like crazy with these tires.
