scrambler 400 question?
#1
How much faster is the 2000 scrambler 400 without EBS then the 2001 and newer 400's with EBS. Will it beat a 2001 and newer scrambler 500 stock for stock. Also is $3000 a good price for a 2000 scrambler 400 2x4 in excellent condition.

IM NOT SURE THERES MUCH DIFFERANCE IN POWER, THEY DIDNT CHANGE MUCH IN THE POWERPLANT, IF ANY DIFF. ITS MINIMAL. I HAVE A 2001 400 2X4 AND MY BROTHER HAS SAME IN 500 AND I KICK HIS BUTT , THE 500 HAS A 4 STROKE POWERPLANT AND WEIGHTS MORE. 3000$ SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT PRICE FOR A 2000, I WAS CONCIDERING SELLING MINE FOR 3500.00 BUT I REALLY ENJOY IT. IF I WAS I WOULD REPLACE WITH THE PREDATOR!!!!!!!!

The 400's will all be the same unless its a 4x4, heavier =slower. The 500 is slightly slower especially in 4x4 trim. The 400 can easily be modded to be much faster. See my signature. 3k might be slightly high but if its in great condition offer them $2,500 but go for it. I paid 2k for mine they were asking $2,500, it was in fair condition. I have recently seen a NEW 2003 400 Trail blazer (same as Scrammy minus long travel suspension) from a dealer for $3,600 plus freight etc... etc...
