did you change your plug?leaving your petcock on is fine,the only way it causes problems is if the needle and seat in the crab are bad,i think thats how that works anyway..

 

Did you pinch the gas vent line when you put the plastic back on?

 

well does it start cold and not hot? have u changed your jetting from winter to summer? has he temp dropped there lately? if it has it could be stuck rings. it dosnt really seem to be your problem but im just throwin the idea out there. scott

 

Geeze, i never thought to check my spark plug, cuz it was runnin pretty crappy before i took it apart. WEll i'll try all of that and see if it works, thank u so much for all ur help guys!

 

usually wen u foul up a plug it will still start, atleast it does for me but wen u go to take off it will just bog

 

well, i took the plug out...blacker than coal. Before i did that, my dad and i started it up with some ether?? thats what he called it and it ran fine, for a min or two. After changing the plug, and i know its gapped right, it bogs like crazy. Full throttle is less than idle when it was running. The gas is just not burning, its commin back through the carb. there must have been half of a cup of gas on the ground from the air box. I think i am just going to have to take the carb apart. and for those of u who know me, be ready for lots of help topics commin up in the polaris fourms.

 

its a really bad idea to use ether on a 2-stroke i would stay away from that also i second the pinched fuel vent tube...

 

rebuild the top end. Same exact thing happened to me. sorry.
