Default Removing drive clutch?

Do you need a special tool to remove the drive clucth?

I bought a '95 scrambler that had a broken cylinder and it was removed.
I want to pull the whole engine and put it out of the weather until it gets rebuilt.
I noticed there is water in the crankcase!!!
Thanks.

Yes. You need a primary clutch puller. HPD sells them. Water in the crankcase means your counter balance seals are shot

The tool that HPD sells is really nothing more than a hardened steel bolt with the threads turned down on the ends. Don't mess around though and just buy one from them!

I will check with a local dealer. Shipping is expensive, or slow, and I need to get that engine out before the water freezes up.

I think the water is there because it rained alot and the lower end is sitting there with not much to cover it other then the body.

It is a ton easier to get it out with an impact wrench too. Otherwise, alot of times you're left just spinning the motor over with a regular socket.

You can get water in your crank case if you don't drain the water from the radiator by disconnecting the hose top and bottom before you pull the head and cylinder. If this is a 2 stoke.....I just made my own puller by using a 3/8 rod and a bolt
