Just realized something that will make the 700 rumor sound more true. Go to www.polarisindustries.com you will notice that even though MOST of the 2001 s have been released, they have not updated their site. Now they could just be slow, but i think that is a hint. Just a hunch lol

I SAW 2001 SP 400 AT MN STEAT FAIR IT WAS RED LOOKED LIKE A 500 SP.THANKS DO HAVE PRICES ON THEM, I THINK THE SP 400 WSA 6199. SP500 H.O 6999. THANKS AGIAN DAN 96 SP 500 27 'VAMPS

 

1996 sp500- no ebs, bad brake lever, hard to set parking brake, old speedo, red push botton AWD (like the Kodiak and Grizzly),ulgiest sp500
1997-same with minor grafix.
1998-biggest changing year, EBS, new brake lever, and camo on the stickers
1999-few changes, best looking sp500 ever
2000-new speedo and graphics
2001-new HO, new intrument panel, graphic changes, all new brakes, new gas cap, choke lever, few others.
As you can see no sp500 has ever been the same. So try to get as new as possible
