Default 12-1 to 14-1

I am running hot-seats old style 12-1 cool head. Going to put on 14-1 dome. No other changes. Running a 168 in 39 Kehlin and it has been perfect for over a year where I ride. Shouldn't need any jetting changes should I? Just the high dollar fuel. Any comments. Are you out there Bubba?

i would ditch the hole head and get one with a girdle kit and or get the ehaust port to base welded up and
you would be saving your self in the run. as for jetting i run 178 with 110

I would leave it at 12-1...If you go with the 14-1 you are taking a risk without the girdle kit. Go with the hpd and get a girdle kit if you are wanting more compression

hot seat doesn't need girdle kit, going 12 to 14 will give more
torque and faster revving up (build rpm quicker),also running
race gas or av gas is a lot more reliable for the motor.
hot seat heads are wide and bullet proof.

I run at 1200 ft elevation, Like I said running a 168 has been perfect for the 12-1. I do have a girgle kit from HPD on it. Rick modified the jug and hot seat head for me.

Compression doesnt change how much air enters the motor really, it just more effeciently burns what's there to make more power. As a general rule of thumb I would go up one size on the main jet when you make the change, then check the jetting afterwards. You need at least 105 octane to be on the safe side.
