Ramsey Wireless Winch Install
#1
I'm in the process of installing a 3k lb. Ramsey wireless winch on an '03 700twin. Does anyone have any install tips/hints they would like to give? When mounting the antenna, does it matter if the strips are parallel or perpendicular to the bike?
Any/All help is greatly appreciated!!

VetteVert,
Congrats on your choice! I am picking one of these up tommorow to take the place of the Warn product I had installed. They are sold out of the plain switch models, so up here in AK, you take what you can get. I don't know if I will install the remote control. Hopefully I can just retrace the routing of my old lines. I prefer a no-solenoid installation.
The Ramsey is supposed to draw about 20% less current than the Warn. After talking to 2 Warn reps on the phone, and trading emails with a guy on their site about my winch motor that failed for no reason; and never hearing any other response than NO, like on that David Spade commercial, I was bound and determined that I would never buy another Warn Industries product. Too bad I replaced the hubs on my F350 4x4 with their stuff.
$500 is a lot of money for an item that sees very little use, and then the maker will not even discuss why it failed if it is beyond the 1 year warranty period.
Looking forward to putting my Warn experience behind me.
I would sure appreciate any comments you have to offer during your install procedure.
thanks
