Default Trail Boss 330 needs more power

My wife has a Trail Boss 330 and it is in need of a serious boost in power. It seems like a good overall machine, but it seems like it can't get out of its own way. Any suugestions for improving performance would be appreciated.

I would consider finding a pipe maybe off of a trailblazer 250 since they are almost the same in that situation and i would also port out the cylinder. Porting out the cylinder should give you a gain of about 5 hp if done right. Other then that there isnt many other mods that i know of for a trailboss 330. Not sure if a clutch kit for a trailblazer 250 will work.

Maybe I am confusing quads here, but the 330 is a 4 stroke, so the T Blazer 250 pipe won't work on it. Also, porting the cylinder won't apply either. You could, however, get a high compression piston, better exhaust, K&N air filter, different cam, port the head, etc. Although, that quad is 'what it is' - a great do it all ATV not meant to go super fast. You might be better off to buy an ATV with more displacement because it's going to cost you a lot of money to make it go fast.

Same response as other mods go, "Call Rick Ritter". We have an 02' Trail Boss 325 and put Rick's mod kit on it and love it. It made a huge difference. I installed the same kit on a friends 04' Trail Boss 330 and have no complaints either. After the pipe and clutch mods, you can upgrade your front sprocket to a 12 tooth if you are looking to gain a little top speed. Well worth the money. They are a great trail quad. We put on at least 150 miles a day when we go to the U.P. to ride and that quad has never given us any trouble ('cept for needing pulled out with the winch a couple times!).

Oh sorry, i didnt see that you had the newer style. I assumed u had one of the later models. My bad, your right. Ya then everything is out of question except for the porting.

As far as upgrading the trail boss goes...Rick Ritter seems to be the general consensus.
