Default 03 700 Sportsman Problem

Hello let me start out by telling the problem. Me and my 2 friend bought 3 03 700 sportsmans. Well we all ride together and have raced, mine would out run both not buy much just a little. Well now we raced and both my friends will out run mine.I have installed a heel clicker clutch , I have 27'' tires dyno jetkit and some extra weight like winch and bumper ( you can see the list below). We start at a dead stop and he jumps right out of the hole around 3 or 4 atv lenths everytime but then I start keeping up toward midrange. Well I thought it was the tires so I put my other friends stock tires on mine and raced again still the same out come, gets me out of the hole everytime but I keep up with him on top end. Can anyone suggest anything? I also put a new belt on and it helped a little but I havn't put the stock tires back on with the new belt and raced but I think he will still get me. I have a dyno jet kit in and it called for a 142 jet and I messed up and put the 148 jet in by mistake do you think this might bogg me down on take off? I will take my plug out tomorrw and see how it looks. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

hey boss. I d take and install actually 2 jet sizes lower than the 142. Dyno plays it safe at all temps. If the temp gets below 5 oC have to fatten her up a couple sizes to be sure. IF the bike has a problem on midrange, u may want to lift the clip on the needle 1 position, and for best results to beat the buddy, mix a tank of regular pump gas and 114 race gas at a 50 50 fate and that should help.
I have pals that are running the EPI big wheel kit in their 03 700 and have hard pull through all engine rpm, but lost about 5mph on top end. Bit of a loss on top, but compensated for on the overall use.

Remember, the clutch kit will loose you top end, so don't expect to keep up when you get up in the RPM's, but it should pull better on the low end. Jetting could be a problem, you'll have to experiment with that. Air filter is a good bet, get more flow.

You may need to adjust you clutch springs, etc. If you're not pulling off the line, sounds like clutch, jetting/air, or some related problem...

The heel clicker clutch says no loss of top end speed. I really don't care if I lose a little top end speed I just want to get off the line a little better. I will play with the jetting a little to see if that helps. I have played with the primary clutch springs but none of them will still beat my friend out of the hole. Also I have a k&n filter that I have run for almost a year.

I run the heelclicker in my 400 and gained a few MPH on the top end.. Depending on the PRimary I use. If I go with Orange primary, I loose some bottom end and dont launch as well, but have great accelration from about 5-6 MPH up to about 45 or so then it slows down a bit up to about 56 or so
The stock primary gives me GREAT low end response, but not enough RPMS for a decent top end. The White primary kinda fals in between. I do know that with the White Primary, at one time for a couple of days I could pull 62-64 MPH on this little 400. Then I was back to the 54-58 range. Not sure what I did, but I'd like to recreate it!

it sounds like a clutch problem, With the heelclicker the primary closes too quickly, try taking out the set screw on the end of the weight. You'll have to do some playing around but the heelclicker is VERY tunable. Keep tinkering to you get the right combination of springs and weight.

Well I took the plugs out and they look great so I'm pretty sure its got to do with the clutch. I was wondering what kind of setup every one is using on there heel clicker clutch?
