Have any of you guys with access to the parts manuals compared the part numbers of the HO clutch to the standard, last revised 2000 clutch? Is it just the springs, or did they also change the helix?

Can we retrofit our previous year models?

Is there a noticeable difference off the line under load?

i heard they changed the clutch up,but what did they do compared to my 99.

 

Well there there was a stationary ramp change in the primary clutch for quads made after 4/1/00: the part # changing from 5132344 to 5131447

Is the HO stationary ramp the same?

ChopperBill could tell us more probably.

What I would like to know is:

Is this a dual angle helix which would give us more torque on the low end rpm range and more speed on the top?

But... is this helix effective only with the improved breathing of the HO engine at higher RPM?

Would installing this clutch kit(on a non HO motor) by itself be detrimental to performance?

Was the atv color yellow designed by local law enforcement agencies for more effective alleged perpetrator identification?

Readers of too many snowmobile magazines want to know!

 

I bought my 2000SP500 about 8 weeks ago and it seems to have much more take off than my 98SP500. It will ride a wheely very easily while sitting on the seat with my feet on the floorboards. I wonder if I have the same clutch that comes in an HO.

Check your production date on the front cowl and the model designation if it is an AA, AB AJ, AK or whatever. I think that these letters are somewhere in your serial #
