Need to make a decision on purchase please help if you can
Locally in Michigan I found a dealer willing to sell me the following.
2004 Sportsman 700 EFI with warn 2.5 winch (not installed) for $7473 out the door (tax title dealer prep included)
and as a second ATV I am purchasing through them a
2004 Scrambler 500 HO 4x4 - $5350 out the door (tax title dealer prep included)
Michigan has 6% sales tax and thats already figured into the price.
If you were me would you take it? Finance person says thats the best he can do.
Wanted to farm it out to the experts here for approval I'd like to give them an answer today or tomorrow so please let me know what you think.

Won't throw in helmets and gloves for both though
I thought it was a good price but again I haven't purchased an atv in a long time...and I know dealers are wanted to get rid of their stock. I think I'll ask him to have the winch installed and call it a day.
Thanks BigBad - I usually go riding up in Indian River...maybe I'll see you sometime.

Those arent bad prices. In my area a 700Efi was running $6800 plus tax and other costs like the winch so they would be close to $7600 OTD. The Scramblers were running about $5300 OTD.
Like you mention, try to get them to install the winch for free (my dealer installs all accessories purchased with a new quad for free, time of purchase only though). Go to the top (owner) if you have to. If they cant come to your terms, leave and they'll probably call you in a day or two (happened with me) offering you a better deal.

Your question is tough to answer -- too many unknown variables. Personally, I think you're spending a LOT of money, but you may be rich! Do you REALLY need a 4WD? You can get an excellent machine like the Trail Boss for around $3500, or two for the price of your 700. Not me! But I'm not riding in Michigan either, don't know your local riding conditions, etc.
That's the best I can do to answer your question......!

Yeah, no doubt that is a good price. Our local shop wanted to charge 3 hours labor to install the winch that the manual said would take 45 minutes to an hour! Needless to say, we did it ourselves in about 40 minutes. We ride in Michigan all the time way up by Wolverine. You have to be crazy not to have a 4x4 up there.
