Default Snow Pushin' with sportsman 500 H.O

Just wonderin' if someone with some experience with pushin' snow with a sportsman 500 h.o could tell me how well it gets the job done with a 56" blade...For instance, if there was 3-6" of snow how far could I push one line of it before I get stuck...or does it just not get stuck? Also, as far as performance accessories go to help, I have an outlaw clutch kit and a tad bit beefier tires than stock. (btw, if any of you know some good websites for performance upgrades for my atv, and which ones are the best to get... let me know)

Are you going to be plowing on concrete? If so, put your stock tires on when you do this because the pavement will just chew your tires to death. I don't think you will get stuck when plowing the snow.

Yes, concrete...and I wish I had some other set of tires. The tires I got were installed when I bought it...I'm not sure what they are called, but I plan to get outlaws or mudlites next spring, so it's not a problem of them getting chewed up. But thanks for the speedy reply

I got a SP 335 with a 60" plow and can push all kinds of snow on my gravel driveway. The only thing that stops me are trees and large buildings. I don't think you will have any problem pushing snow wiyh your 500. In fact one year we got about 8" of snow then it rained so I dug out the snowblower but it wouldn't work right so i cleared the driveway with the bike. Some times when I am bored and not working I go and do a few neighbors driveways.

I don't care what 2x4 owners say, but riding in the snow is the best kind of riding. I can't wait for that first snowfall!!!

It all depends on the kind of snow and the angle of your blade,,,but they work well.

our 98 sp500 will push snow with it coming over the top of the blade. you won't get stuck unless you're spinning on ice. we have a 60" blade and it works great! only thing is you might want to put some weight on the back end just to keep it from moving around when you tilt the blade.

I have a 2000 Sportman 500, non HO which I got last year with less then 700 miles on it and only hours as well but I was able to push all kinds of snow last year. And most of my plowing on my mothers driveway is up hill and it's a pretty steep driveway and it's gravel but I never got stuck plowing snow and we had a good bit of snow here is south western PA last winter. The only time I would get stuck is when I didn't get the snow pushed back far enough the first time and left the snow bank too close to the edge. But besides that, it's a blast. A lot easier then trying to shovel and 3/10ths of a mile driveway and that's just my mothers. Mine is about another 1/10th to 2/10ths on top of that. Have fun
