I dont think anyone plans for things to go wrong. But if it were to happen on an atv chances are it would be out in the woods...

Remember the 700 Twin is used in the Frontier snowmobile also, which has pull start and it is EFI. So evidentally it's possible. I'm sure if you got some of the similar parts that are on the Frontier, you could probably get an idea of what it would cost. The MV comes out soon, so once the parts book is released on Polaris's website we should be able to tell what parts are needed for the conversion. I was looking at the 700 flywheel cover which comes very close to the foot well, you may also have to do something with your foot well area to make room for the recoil. Just a thought. The twin has to be hard to pull over, but i'm sure if you bring the pistons to TDC and then pull, it will be easier than you think. Time will tell, the MV's will be out soon.

This is an idea that I got from some of my other riding buddies. They went to walmart and got one of the smallest motorcycle batteries they could find. It cost about $23. One of them has a new efi and just put it in the front compartment. The other 2 zip tied them behind the radiator support out of the way. This way If a battery were ever to go dead they have an extra. They only weigh about 3.5 - 4 lbs. We had to use it once but not in our group. It was someone elso that was stranded. I thaught it was a great idea, low cost and an ease of mind. You dont even know the extra bttery is there.

That's a good idea about the extra battery. Just make sure you keep it charged up. If Polaris has an EFI 700 available with a pullstart(as mentioned in the snowmobile), I'd guess the setup is very similar, if not the same from an electronics standpoint, which would allow the unit in the ATV to be pullstarted also. Just wondering, does the snowmobile with the 700 EFI have a battery?

Why carry a extra battery when a set of light weight jumper cables are a lot lighter?

The Frontier can be pull started AND it has a battery (since it has electric start also). Would it still pull start with the battery dead? I don't think so.

As I said I don't know the exact specs on the sled. The point of carrying an extra battery is if you were alone, or riding with another quad which didn't have a battery. Personally I prefer to not rely on other people, but agree that jumper cables are lighter and wouldn't need the maintenance the battery would need.

I always carry a set of jumper cables but what if your starter fails?

Well gee......there are many more things that can go "wrong". Most important thing to carry is a tow strap so you can pull back a buddy or they can pull you back. Ride it like you stole it!
