Default Compression Reading on Polaris 700

We took a compression reading from the plug hole and it only retured 68 PSI on my 02 Polaris 700. It is turning over but is not cranking. I thought this was a very low reading, so I was thinking I was going to order two new pistons , rings, etc...however I was told my A Polaris Mech at a local dealership that the compression sounded within range for the 700 twin. It has a compression release value and 68 did not sound that low to him. (even though it does to me)... We changed only one plug (I did not know the other was not changed) and both plug wires...just trouble shooting. It did crank one time...but was sputtering and then went dead. I was later told the compression on a 700 should read between 150-170 PSI... so now I do not know whom to believe. Just looking for information before I just assume. thanks.

The service manual gives a spec of 150-170 psi + or - 15%. My 700 cranks just fine on one cylinder.
