Chopper,
Can you provide me some more specifics on the Winch program? I bought my 2000 SP500 in July new from a John Deere/Polaris dealer in the middle of nowhere. Asked about the Winch program and they had no idea what I was talking about. Is there anyway I can take advantage of this program now?
Thanks!

You are right about the winch only being good for 2000 models, but I have two dealers closeby that will do it on the 2001. The one in Neosho, MO confirmed that it was only on 2000 models for me. He has the best price I can find on an HO at $6300. Looks like I will go to Poteau, OK and get it for $6400 with the winch.

I always thought about that color thing when hunting too, but the majority of my hunting was done off of Red honda 300's and 250's. Even the yellow and blue yamahas that we had. The color didn't really matter then, but I agree with you 100% on getting green for hunting. I like green better than anything else, but the silver did look neat. My favorite looking quad of all time is the 98 grey Kodiak still. Brand new, it looked so mean. Old and scratched up, it looked like crap though.

Actually, mine is a new 2000 Sportsman 500 purchased 8-3-00.
I am trying to determine if I should have been able to participate in the Winch promotion. I am not sure if my dealer knew about the promotion (he's a John Deere tractor dealer, mostly) or if he was holding back on me.
The Neosho folks are pretty knowledgeable, but as I did not buy the ATV from them (they were $200) higher, I'm not sure they would help me. Though they should since I just dropped $500 at there service department on my 1989 TrailBoss.

Neosho has given me better quotes on both the Sp500 and the Rancher for my cousin than Fort Smith, Fayetteville, or Russellville, Arkansas dealers would. All over the phone as well. Poteau, OK was $100 higher on the Sp500, but they would put the winch in on it which is worth the difference.

Sold the only one we had to Colorado's dad. He was in the other day and said they rejetted it and it runs aheck of alot better. Check with Colorado he can give you the scoop, they went riding this last weekend. Have 4 coming this week and will be setting a silver 500 HO aside incase the 700 isn't reality. Have feeling the HO will be enough machine for me.
