From Nacs Racing. It a PEP rebuildable one. I have to weld a tab to bolt it to, but it works good. Well, i haven't ridden with it yet, but just sitting it works good.

 

how hard would it be to mod a 250R frame to accept the polaris motor and tranny? what was involed in putting the 250R front end on your scrammy?

 

Doing what I did doesnt seem all that hard. But once you start, you run into alot of problems. I just looked at the two frames, decided where I thought they would go together, then I cut them and started fitting. Went through over a dozen grinding wheels getting things to fit right.

I dont know how hard it would be to make the motor and tranny go into an R frame. I have the back half of mine, I may check to see how hard it would be. Not that its usable, just to see. I know you would have to fab motor mounts and tranny mounts, Wouldnt have that large flate plate for mounts on the tranny like the polaris does. Well, I guess you could cut them out of the polaris frame and weld them in. That would take care of the bottom motor mount too.... Then you would just need to make a front and top mount. That would also have the swingarm mounted. I am sure a new shock mount would be needed too. Ya know, that may have been an easier way to go. I still have a scrammy frame, and the back of an R frame, I will check it out and maybe make something up. I was planning to save the scrammy frame to possibly do this project again, but maybe I will go the other way with this one.

 

Hey right now i have a polaris magnum 500, i was looking for a new exhaust system for it. it already has a K and N on it. i was wondering if a scrambler exhaust system would work on it. and if i also would have to get a jet kit for it to then. thanx with any info

Honestly, and I am not trying to hate on this whole thing, but what are the advantages of having a scrambler engine in a 250R frame, rather then a big bore 250R engine in its original chassis?
